I pitched the film today to Rob Jefferson and Peter Dillon. Although the pitching technique went well, and even though they were excited about the concept of the film, there were a few criticisms. Firstly, the length of the film is not going to be long enough to include all 6 stories and all 6 characters. They have advised we still go for the concept of the movie, keep the 10 mins maximum length, but lose characters that could be expendable or remove certain flashbacks and just have them tell the stories from the interview booth. I mentioned possibly doing an extended trailer for the gala and working more on completing the film after. They said that it wasn't a good idea and rather to have a proper length film to show than a one that is rushed or condensed in trailer form. This poses a problem, because if we choose to take their advice, we need to think about which characters we could afford to lose. They think the movement of flashbacks and setting changes will take up a lot of time and poses a problem. They said they need to see Adam Donald's script before they make any more decisions, but it definately makes matters more difficult when we have to keep the strength but cut away at things. They also mentioned a film to look at as research for police interrogation and how a detective gets emotionally involved in a case.
